Web Applications (Basics) Introduction A Web application refers to an application, which can be accessed through a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Web applications are those applications that are only accessible using Internet. Web applications came into existence to overcome the shortcomings of desktop applications which can be hosted on all the computers but not on the network or Internet.
